Most steam engines and equipment are made in Switzerland.

A smaller part of the machines come from abroad. But they were in their active time in Swiss workshops, factories and vehicles in operation.

Few but historically important machines that were built and used abroad complement the collection.

Many manufacturers, once world companies and pioneers of industrialization have disappeared or been taken over. In the steam centre, their names and machines bear witness to industrialist Switzerland.
